As a graduate from the Emily Carr Institute of Design's Sculpture program in 1978, Martha Sturdy has been awarded:
HONORARY DOCTORATE FROM THE EMILY CARR INSTITUTE OF ART AND DESIGN

And June 2006 saw the Provincial Government celebrate and award the artist for her excellence with the:
